The Alliance for Community Media (ACM) presents each year a national video festival called the Hometown Video Festival. The ACM is a national, non-profit organization committed to assuring that everyone has access to electronic media. The Alliance accomplishes this by educating the public, advancing a positive legislative and regulatory environment, building coalition, and supporting local organizations.

The Hometown Video Festival honors and promotes community communications and local cable programs that are first distributed on Public, Educational and Governmental (PEG) access, Local Origination (LO), or Leased Access (LA) cable television access channels. Awards are presented to creative programs that address community needs, develop diverse community involvement, challenge conventional commercial television formats, and move viewers to experience television in a different way. The Hometown Video Festival is local cable's largest video festival.

Winners not only receive National recognition but also receive finely crafted engraved plaques. This is a real opportunity to get recognition for all the hard work you put into your program as well as gain valuable insight into what others think about your program. For more information visit the ACM's website at www.alliancecm.org or by calling LCTV for an application.
